Cardiotocography: Basic to Advanced
This course will be helpful to all the undergraduates, postgraduates, Obstetricians, midwives, labor room nurses who are involved in the pregnant and labouring women care. Cardiotocography is the initial test of fetal well being which is being performed invariably on all the patients in the labor room in today’s era. The unindicated use and the overdiagnosis of the fetal compromise by this modality oftenly leads to unnecessary caesarean section, at the same time improper interpretation of CTG leads to underdiagnosis of fetal compromise.
This course has been made with the intention to make all the subscribers understand the basics of fetal physiology which lead to various CTG changes. The clear understanding of the same will help all to predict the NEXT change in the CTG and the management accordingly to improve the fetal outcome. Reasons and physiology for all the CTG changes and their correlation with clinical conditions have been explained with the help of original CTG strips, real case scenarios and author’s vast experience in the field.
All the current guidelines, books and research articles have been consulted while making the presentations. Computerized CTG and STAN has been explained in depth to understand the concept and use of the same. Lecture on cord blood analysis and it’s correlation explains the basics, technique and the interpretation of the same.
Again the consolidated lectures at one place with detailed explanation will be helpful to all of you and you all can rewind, revise and visualize multiple times whenever you get time.
